DC TOUCHDOWN CLUB GOLF OUTING ONCE AGAIN

BRINGS TOGETHER A CAPACITY CROWD TO SUPPORT PATRIOT POINT

On a chamber-of-commerce picture-perfect afternoon, the DC Touchdown Club Golf Outing once again drew a capacity crowd to Whiskey Creek Golf Club as supporters from throughout the National Capital Region came together to raise money for Patriot Point, the Military Bowl Foundation’s 294-acre retreat for recovering service members, their families and caregivers.

“What an incredible day!” Military Bowl President & Executive Director Steve Beck said. “It is a testament to the strength of our mission, to be joined by so many people who share the commitment to honoring and supporting those who serve our great nation. Thank you to all of the sponsors who join in doing all we can for the men and women in uniform.”

The field included members of the Military Bowl Foundation Board of Directors and the DC Touchdown Club Executive Committee, as well as former Washington Redskins players Raleigh McKenzie and Ken Jenkins. Several veteran service members also were among the participants.

All of the proceeds from the event benefit Patriot Point, which hosts hundreds of guests annually, at no cost to them. Patriot Point guests attend events including unit reunions, therapeutic retreats, hunting or fishing trips and more, where they enjoy activities such as kayaking, fishing, crabbing and paddle boarding to try to relax and continue their healing.

DC Touchdown Club Golf Outing sponsors included Gold Sponsor Cypress Real Estate Company; Silver Sponsors Nardi Construction and Tower Facility Management; Post-Play Meal Sponsor Mission BBQ; Beverage Cart Sponsor Taishoff Family Foundation; and Hole Sponsors American Athletic Conference, Chenega MIOS, Constellation Brands, Curtis Family Foundation, Defiant Whisky, Events DC, FCN Technology Solutions, IceShaker, MBI Events, Old Virginia Tobacco Company, Radice Enterprises, State & Liberty and Warwick Group Consultants.

The foursome of DC Touchdown Club Executive Committee member Jeff Gottshall, Ryan Gottshall, Pat McCarthy and Kevin Johnson captured first place in the tournament with a score of 58.

The Military Bowl Foundation’s next event is the Home of the Free … Because of the Brave dinner on Thursday, September 5, celebrating the kickoff of the NFL season in the company of recovering service members and caregivers from Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and Fort Belvoir Community Hospital.
